A 79-member batch of child jockeys will arrive here on July 8 from UAE, for whom the arrangements have been made in Child Protection and Welfare Bureau. This was disclosed by the Adviser to the Chief Minister Punjab on Children Rights, Dr Faiza Asghar in a courtesy call to Principal Officer American Consulate Brian Heath, here on Wednesday.
In the meeting, which lasted for half an hour, various matters regarding eradication of child beggary, rehabilitation of child beggars and steps taken for the betterment of children involved in camel races came under discussion.
Dr Faiza Asghar said that the Punjab government had initiated a struggle for the eradication of child beggary.
