Residents in the Block V and Block 6 of the Defence Housing Authority (DHA) were extremely inconvenienced by the traffic police and the police on security duty along with Rangers and other special security units during the visit to the utility store in the DHA by the Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz, reports UPP correspondent.
Police on duty diverted normal traffic from the utility store side for quite sometime causing traffic jams on other roads and side roads in the DHA area. While it was described as a surprise visit by the Prime Minister, the utility store officials somehow had an inkling of the visit and considerable stock of daily use items including sugar and wheat 'Atta' were brought in the morning of Friday, to have enough stocks in the store to show to the Prime Minister.
It may be mentioned here that at different utility stores in the city there is usually a shortage of essential items such as 'Atta' and sugar and persons coming to buy these two commodities are very often told to call the next day for buying their required quantity of wheat flour - Atta - and sugar at the fixed price.
