The rupee reversed its firmness versus the euro in the open market on Tuesday, losing nearly 95 paisa for buying and selling at Rs 73.30 and Rs 73.60, dealers said. According to the market sources, the single European currency brushed aside its overnight vulnerability after the Luxembourg's approval of the European constitution, which extended the expectations for the EU stability.
Besides, the euro showed its muscle on the dollar's slight fall ahead of the data.
The rupee in the open market did not show any change versus the dollar for buying and selling at 60.45 and 60.50. In the international markets, the dollars moved both ways ahead of the US data, dealers said.

According to the currency dealers, there was no change in dollar's demand and supply condition, which helped the local currency maintain its overnight closing levels. The dollar's trading commenced at Rs 60.65 and Rs 60.75 as its buying and selling sides, respectively. During the day's trading, the dollar witnessed fractional change of one-two paisa in its worth but finally closed at the opening rates, the dealers added.
However, the rupee remained under pressure for the second day and depreciated its worth against the pound sterling. The pound's buying rate improved from Monday's closing rate of Rs 105.50 to Rs 106.40, while selling rate moved up from Rs 106.00 to Rs 106.80, the dealers added.
The dollar opened at Rs 60.45 (buying) and Rs 60.55 (selling) against same last rate. It did not observe any further change in the evening spell and closed at Rs 60.45 (buying) and Rs 60.55 (selling).
Pound sterling opened at Rs 105.10 (buying) and Rs 105.20 (selling) against same last rate. It did not witness any further change and closed at Rs 105.10 (buying) and Rs 105.20 (selling).
