President Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA) Punjab and Deputy Ameer Jamaat-i-Islami Liaquat Baloch MNA, has said that the Hasba Bill is not in violation of the Constitution. While addressing a press conference here on Tuesday, Baloch said that the bill was not tabled in the NWFP Assembly in violation of the Constitution 'because the Constitution empowers the provinces to frame their own laws remaining within the constitutional limits.'
The people had given mandate to the MMA for following the Holy Quran and Shariah and the alliance would not take any step against the teachings of the Quran and Sunnah, he added.
Responding to a question, he ruled out any possibility of dissolution of the NWFP provincial assembly. He said: "The government is not in a position to dissolve the MMA government in the NWFP and impose Governor's Rule in the province.
