National Assembly speaker condemns London blasts

National Assembly Speaker Chaudhry Amir Hussain has strongly condemned London bomb blast incidents and termed it an inhuman act against the mankind. Addressing a big public meeting in adjoining village Sadhrana on Monday night, he said there was no room for extremism and terrorism in Islam, because tolerance, brotherhood and peace were the fundamental principles of Islam.
The collective efforts were direly needed at that juncture to cope with the menace of terrorism for making the globe terrorist-free, he added.
The NA Speaker said the government was committed for holding local bodies (LBs) elections in fair, free and congenial environment in the country. He said the district and tehsil governments during the past years had completed record development work and redressed the problems at local level.
The NA Speaker stressed upon the people that they should elect their capable and honest representatives in the coming LB elections for ensuring constant process of development in their respective areas.
Amir Hussain on this occasion urged upon the women folk that they should take active part in the LB elections to ensure their representation in district government and tehsil municipal administrations of their respective areas.
He also stressed upon the women folk that they should take active part in political activities and educates women about their rights, which would help further strengthening and promotion of democracy in the country.
The NA Speaker further stated the government was utilising all resources and huge funds for banishing the backwardness from the less-developed and ignored areas on top priority basis. The government was also making strenuous efforts for installing filtration plants in various parts of the country aimed at providing hygienic drinking water to the masses, he added.
Amir Hussain further said the huge funds were being spent on the provision of sui gas, electricity, telecommunication, health and means of communication in remote and ignored parts for brining backward areas at par with the developed parts of the country, he said.
