Pakistan Navy has put its special forces on high alert in the areas of Shah Bandar, Keti Bandar, Jati, Sajawal and Chur Jamali to meet any eventuality in case of floods. This was announced in a press release of ISPR (Navy) issued here on Thursday.
It said that detachments of Pak Marines and Special Services Units in low-lying coastal areas of Sindh have been deployed. These detachments have been fully equipped for conducting possible relief operation and are in close liaison with the local authorities to deal with any eventuality.
Pak Marines flood relief co-ordination cell has also been established at Company Headquarters Chur Jamali (Telephone Nos. 0298-778250, 778228) for monitoring the situation, co-ordination and execution of various relief activities, it was further pointed out.
