Wheat futures at the Chicago Board of Trade rallied to four-week highs early on Thursday following surging corn and soy, traders said. Wheat traders said the strong gains in row crops, tied to harsh weather in the US Midwest, again triggered spillover speculative demand for wheat futures.
At 10 am CDT (1500 GMT), CBOT wheat was up 5 to 8-1/2 cents per bushel. July was up 8-1/2 at $3.39-1/2 per bushel. September was up 8-3/4 at $3.48-1/2.
