Federal Minister for Science and Technology, Choudhry Naurez Shakoor Khan laid the foundation stone of Pakistan Standards and Quality Control Authority (PSQCA) Complex at Gulistan-e-Jauhar Karachi here on Wednesday.
The five-storey building would be completed by December next year with an estimated cost of Rs 85.48 million. It would house the PSQCA laboratories as well as its administration block.
Speaking on the occasion, Naurez Shakoor said Pakistani standards had been enforced and there would be a proper stamp on every product, adding it would not be possible to sell impure things in the market. He said it would be ensured that the quality products were put on sale in the market.
The Minister pointed out that in the aftermath of the WTO, they had to compete in the region as well as internationally and added that a number of organisations had been apprised about the standards.
Naurez Shakoor also said the products meeting the quality standards would be allowed to be sold here.
