Two working journalists were remanded to judicial custody by two judicial magistrates here on Wednesday after they were charged of fanning religious hatred by publishing objectionable material.
Judicial Magistrate South (Mithadar) Zeeshan Akhtar remanded Associate Editors of "Friday Special" Abdul Lateef Abu Shamil till August 02. He was booked under section 153 (A) and 34 PPC.
Editor of the "Friday Special" Yayha Bin Zikariya is absconding in the case.
Judicial Magistrate South Khushi Muhammad remanded another newspaper weekly "Wajood" Editor Tahir to judicial custody till August 02.
Two other journalists Ali Altaf and Zakirullah are absconding in the case carrying identical charges of fanning religious disharmony.
