RDA presents PC-1 of Marreer chowk flyover to chief minister

Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has presented the PC-1 of the Rs 432 million Marreer Chowk Flyover project to chief minister Punjab for final approval and allocation of funds for completion of the project.
"The project would be completed within a short period after approval from the chief minister and without blocking the railway traffic, RDA would make sure the timely completion", said Qazi Attaur Rehman, spokesman of the Tehsil Municipal Administration here on Thursday.
Talking to this scribe, the spokesman said that no foreign agencies would be involved in construction of flyover at Marreer Chowk. The local firms would construct it and Punjab government would provide funds for the project. "Chief minister has time and again announced the construction of flyover at Marreer Chowk in order to make sure the smooth sailing of traffic at this important juncture and hub", he added.
He said that the PC-1 was completed by the experts of the development authority keeping in view the importance of the Marreer Chowk and the flow of traffic both vehicular and railway at this point. He said that flyover is dire need as traffic jams are causing huge trouble for the motorists.
"We are waiting for final approval from the chief minister and soon after attaining approval of this project work would be started without any further delay", the spokesman said adding that modern construction equipment would be used in construction of the flyover in order to make it a state of art project, which would add in beauty of the city besides resolving traffic problems.
