Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal (MMA) on Saturday condemned controversy over madaris certificates during local bodies polls and said it would move Supreme Court (SC) of Pakistan in that regard.
MMA legislators Muhammad Hussain Mehanti, Abdul Sattar Afghani and Muhammad Laeeq Khan in a statement contended University Grants Commission (UGC) had accepted the status of "Shahadat-e-Almia" as equivalent to the Master of Arts (M A) degree. "Madaris degrees and certificates are recognised," they said.
