Peshawar Electric Supply Company (Pesco) has taken serious note of line losses in Peshawar and Khyber circles and has given a time frame for arresting losses and achieving target of the recovery. The decision to this effect was taken in a meeting held on Friday under the chairmanship of Pesco Chief Executive (CE) Roshan Din Khan here at Wapda House.
It took a detailed notice of line losses, recovery and defective transformers. The CE while taking serious note of the increase in line losses set a time frame for Peshawar and Khyber circles to minimise their losses.
The superintendent engineers (SEs) were directed to conduct inspection regularly in their respective divisions and sub divisions and take concrete steps for minimising line losses and enhancing recovery and come up with positive results. They were also directed to prepare weekly reports in that connection. He showed dissatisfaction over the performance of various circles including Peshawar, Shabqadar and Kohat divisions adding that a strict action would be taken against those whose findings could not reach any result in the past. In this context, Peshawar circle was to achieve the target of 3.1 per cent reduction whereas Khyber circle was to meet the target of 3.62 per cent line losses in the current month.
Deputy Managers Surveillance, Rural and Cantt Divisions were issued special directives in that connection and instructed to speed up process of surveillance.
