Need stressed for peaceful conduct of local government polls

Former Sindh governor Lieutenant General Moinuddin Haider (Retd) said peaceful local government election process is necessary for the country. He was talking to newsmen at the Circuit House, Hyderabad, on Sunday evening where he was invited to a programme organised by the Sindh Historical Educational and Cultural Society.
He said all reservations and apprehensions have been removed for constructing water reservoirs. He said water reservoirs are in the interest of the country. He said the government is determined to eliminate extremism, sectarianism and terrorism. He emphasised madaris should impart modern education along with Islamic education. Moin said Pakistan is investing Rs 120 billion in education sector while universities and private sector institutions are not included in this budget. District Co-ordination Officer Muhammad Hussain Syed and office-bearers of Sindh Historical Educational and Cultural Society were also present on the occasion.
