Egyptian authorities released on Tuesday a biochemist who had been questioned over links to the July 7 bombings on London's transport system which killed more than 50 people, a security source said. "The Interior Ministry released Magdy Elnashar after the end of investigations which proved he had no link to the London bombings," the source said.
Egyptian officials have previously said Elnashar, who was detained last month, had no links to the bombings and that he would be released after the investigations were complete.
Elnashar, who earlier this year obtained a doctorate in Britain, told the authorities he had returned to Egypt for a six-week holiday and had intended to return to England.
