11 Aug, 2005

Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) has planned to establish a Food Mall in collaboration with the Pakistan Railways and Capital Development Authority (CDA) at Golra Railway Station heritage point. In a statement issued here on Wednesday ICCI president Tariq Sadiq said this while holding a meeting with the CDA chairman.
He said Pakistan Railways has agreed on the project and allowed the ICCI to do so. He praised CDA for establishing a Food Street at Melody market and introducing a variety and quality food, which has provided a good place for the capital citizens to enjoy different kinds of foods at one place.
He urged CDA Chairman and Director General Environment to complete the development work at Food Street.
Tariq said Islamabad City was expanding towards G-13 and F-13 and there was shortage of quality restaurants in those areas.
Traders Managing Committee of Melody Food Park President Sarfraz Haider also expressed his views and lauded the role of ICCI in resolving the problems of Melody Food Park and said ICCI has always played responsible role in addressing the problems of traders and industrialists.
ICCI Vice President Khalid Mahmood Chaudhry said the DG Environment Mazhar Hussain and Director DMA Moman Agha have made a great effort for the up-gradation of Food Street.
