Unidentified gunmen shot dead a businessman in suspected sectarian violence in Quetta, sparking protests by hundreds of people, police said on Thursday. Syed Anwar Shah, 48, was returning home after closing his shop late on Wednesday when the assailants unleashed a hail of bullets, police chief Wazir Khan Nassar said. "It appears to be a sectarian killing," the officer told AFP.
Hundreds of people blocked a nearby road after the killing.
