UK Kashmiris observe one-minute silence

British Kashmiris at a special meeting at Kashmir Centre here late Wednesday observed one minute silence to pay tributes to the victims of the London bombings and condemned terrorism in all its forms and dimensions.
The meeting was chaired by Executive Director of the Centre, Professor Nazir Shawl who moved a resolution, unanimously by representatives of different Britain-based Kashmiri organisations and condemned the 7/7 terrorist acts in London.
It said that all of those killed were innocent people and the people of Kashmir joined their British compatriots in this hour of tragedy and prayed and hoped there would be no such incidents in future.
It said, "the peace of the UK is of paramount importance and that all those present would co-operate in achieving this aim."
The resolution said terrorism had no place in the civilised world and it needed unanimous and universal condemnations.
The meeting paid tributes to Robin Cook, former Foreign Secretary for his efforts in highlighting the issue of Kashmir.
The meeting was attended Mahmood Riaz, Convenor Muslim Conference, Britain Professor Zafar Khan, Representative of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front, Choudary Mohammad Sharief, Deputy President Tehreek Kashmir Raja Mohammad Ishaq Khan, President Kashmir Culture Society, Doctor Soboor Khan, Pakistan People's Party, Tahir Aziz,Owais Rajput, Sajid Janjove, Raja Mohammad Ayub Khan, Muslim Conference, Raja Muzaffar Khan, Talib Khursheed Mir, Kashmir Forum London, Shaukat Bhat, Mansoor Dar, Intizar Hussain, Ashiq Hussain.
