Construction work on special children's block starts

Provincial Advisor on Children Rights Dr Faiza Asghar has said in order to provide educational and recreational facility under one roof on the direction of Punjab Chief Minister, the implementation on project of construction of special children's block has been kicked off.
The block would be completed at a cost of Rs 5.66 million at the Children Library Complex (CLC). Speaking at a function held in connection with groundbreaking ceremony of the block here on Thursday, Dr Faiza Asghar said that provision of improved and equal educational opportunities to the special children was their basic right which the government would take every possible step.
Briefing to the Advisor, Project Director Library Rubina Tariq Jillani disclosed that construction of that 31,900 sq ft special children block would be completed till February 2006. She said the block would be equipped with latest facilities comprising elevator, speech therapy, Braille library, soft playroom, computer lab, arts and craft center, theater and film room, music room and crush area etc. Later, the advisor inspected different sections of the library.
