Ghotki rail tragedy report sent to Prime Minister

12 Aug, 2005

The Ghotki train tragedy enquiry report had been sent to the Prime Minister and those found responsible in the triple train crash would be duly punished, said Minister of State for Railways, Ishaq Khan Khakwani.
Talking to APP here on Thursday, the minister said no lenience would be shown to negligent officials in the accident that claimed over a hundred lives and saddened the whole country.
Commenting on the outcome of the recent terror attack in London, Khakwani observed that President Musharraf had rightly pointed out the accused persons were Britons.
He said President Musharraf had steered the nation out of the woods with prudent and pragmatic policies that were paying dividends now. The country's image abroad had improved and its economy had been rescued from the danger zone and put back on track, he added.
Responding to a query, the minister remarked that opposition had an important role in every democracy, however, this role should be constructive and aimed at improvement.
