Pay, service structure for health officials being reviewed

Sindh Health Department (SHD) is in process of evaluating proposals to review salary as well as service structure of Sindh health department officials, with particular reference to doctors, nurses, paramedics, technicians and other hospital based staffers.
Sindh Health Minister Shabbir Ahmed Qaimkhani said here on Thursday at the inaugural ceremony of the Comprehensive Laser Photocoagulation Facility at Civil Hospital Karachi.
He said government was not only keen to ensure that all public sector health facilities were well equipped and adequately managed but equally to provide an appropriate working environment to the employees.
It is due to the very that I would personally see the file related to the revised pay structure of para medics lying with finance department is taken up for necessary action.
CHK Ophthalmology Department Head Professor Ziauddin Sheikh, in his speech, mentioned the laser photocoagulation facility was an essential requirement for the department witnessing high incidence rate of retinopathy and diabetes induced eye complications including loss of vision.
The senior ophthalmologist reminding that no less than two per cent of the country's population was registered, while there were also a significant number of those (around six per cent) to be at potential risk due to cataract, glaucoma and diabetes.
