Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Pakistan Horticulture Development and Export Board (PHDEB), Shamoon Sadiq has said that Iran would be a bonanza for the exporters of Pakistan and open a new venue for the export of Pakistani Mangoes and Kinnos.
In a press statement on his return from his visit to Iran to explore the possibility of exporting Mangoes and Kinno from Pakistan, he said the private sector importers in Iran had placed trial orders for the import of Mangoes in Iran. He also asked the exporters to be ready to export Kinno in the coming season to Iran.
The delegation of local exporters who accompanied Sadiq had one-to-one meetings with the importers in Iran, which also included a detailed meeting with the Iranian Trade officials, members of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry. These meetings were arranged by the PHDEB at Meshad, Tehran and Zahidan.
Both the products shall be exported to Iran under the protocol signed as a memorandum of understanding regarding quality, standards, storage preservation and certification of Mangoes and Kinnos.
