Punjab University College of Information Technology (PUCIT) on Tuesday launched 4-day 'Free and Open Source Software Awareness Campaign'. While addressing the inaugural ceremony, the Punjab University's acting Vice-chancellor Professor Dr Arif Butt said that Pakistani students have a lot of talent and if proper opportunities were provided to them they would be able to excel in all fields.
'We should also launch Vision 2025 to promote IT education on long-term basis in the country' he added. PUCIT Principal, Dr M.A. Pasha said during the campaign, we would train about 4,000 general students at the campus without charging even a single penny. Besides, the college is planning to train 100,000 students next year, he added. The college is following international trends and all programmes and courses are aimed at meeting the fast changing needs of the market, he maintained.
