Prime Minister and Air Chief discuss plans to improve PAF capabilities

Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz on Wednesday emphasised that peace can only be achieved through strength and therefore, Pakistan needs to maintain a minimum credible defence. Pakistan Air Force has a vital role to play in this connection, he said while talking to Chief of Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Kaleem Saadat who called on him in Islamabad.
They discussed various initiatives and plans of PAF, including acquisition of aircraft as well as related systems to enhance its defence capabilities. The future needs of air force were also came under discussion.
The prime minister renewed the government's commitment to strengthening professional and defence capabilities of armed forces and assured that all necessary resources will be made available to PAF to meet its requirements.
He appreciated relief operations undertaken by PAF in time of emergency for carrying out relief goods to far-flung and remote areas for speedy rehabilitation of affected people.
