Faisalabad Electricity Supply Company (Fesco) has launched an education and awareness campaign to encourage productive use of the electricity. Fesco spokesmen said here on Thursday, "We want to tell consumers to understand their national obligations as responsible citizen of Pakistan and voluntarily discourage the unnecessary use of electricity."
This is the third campaign in a row for the education and awareness of the electricity consumers aimed at to tell consumers to save electricity for its productive use in agriculture and industrial sector.
The luxurious use of electricity for mere comfort particularly during hot and humid season should be discouraged or at least minimised to spare this valuable source of energy for power looms and tubewells.
That campaign, the Fesco hope, would also prove a success and convince responsible peoples to play their national role in strengthening industrial and agriculture sectors in the country, the spokesman added.
The first campaign was launched by Water and Power Development Authority of Pakistan (Wapda) few years ago requesting consumers to voluntarily switch off only one 100 volt bulb to save electricity for industrial sector. People responded to this campaign and helped the Wapda to minimise load shedding for the domestic consumers.
