Punjab Governor Khalid Maqbool has visited several polling stations in Sargodha and adjacent areas to review the polling process and security measures. Talking to the voters, the governor expressed satisfaction over the security arrangements made for the local government elections, and stressed need for provision of peaceful and congenial atmosphere so that the voters could exercise their right of franchise without any disruption and fear.
Three-member delegation of US Consulate also reached Sargodha to monitor electoral process.
Meanwhile, polling in phase-I local bodies elections in Sargodha started on Wednesday morning at 8.00 am. People in large number have thronged the polling stations, while the candidates and their supporters were seen busy in bringing the voters from their houses.
