Supreme Court upholds decision of FST in Dr Shahnaz case

Two-member bench of the Supreme Court (SC) on Friday dismissed a petition filed by the Ministry of Education against Dr Shahnaz A Riaz and upheld decision of the Federal Services Tribunal (FST) after hearing arguments of both the parties - petitioner as well as respondent.
The bench of the Apex Court comprising Justice Hamid Ali Mirza and Justice Muhammad Nawaz Abbasi heard the case and dismissed the petition. Deputy Attorney General Raja Muhammad Irshad appeared before the court as counsel of the Ministry of Education.
According to the decision of Federal Services Tribunal, which was upheld by the Apex Court, the appointment of Dr Shahnaz A Riaz has been allowed as pleaded by her for the post of Director Colleges Federal Directorate of Education.
