Enthusiastic participation of the people in first phase of Local Bodies (LBs) election indicates that overall voters' turnout would be above 50 percent. Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) Secretary Kanwar Dilshad said on Friday while speaking in a PTV programme.
He said overall process of election remained satisfactory and the ECP received very little complaints regarding the violation of conduct. He said such complaints were executed on spot by the District Returning Officers (DROs) and Returning Officers (ROs), adding no complaint about major violation was filed by any candidate.
Appreciating the DROs efficiency he said they succeeded in ensuring the implementation of code of conduct, and added the candidates also co-operated in the process.
To a question, he said announcement of unofficial results would hopefully be completed by Friday evening, while the official results would be announced within next two days. He said that after successful handling of first phase polls, the ECP would also succeed in holding the remaining phases in befitting manners.
