The Governor of the State Bank of Pakistan, Dr Ishrat Hussain, on Tuesday said that the government was formulating a new fund to provide risk cover to banks in the SME sector. Talking to a private TV, he said that government would formulate the fund in co-ordination with the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
He said that the initial investment method and the system of performance of the fund were yet to be decided. Government was expanding the level of the credit information bureau and was maintaining a record for all types of loans, he informed. State Bank Governor added that by September all banks would be able to access this record online.
