Opposition parties in Rawalpindi have demanded judicial inquiry of Dhok Khaba firing and asked the government to stop the victimisation of the workers during LB polls process.
"The use of force and negative acts by the government are loudly speaking about the frustration of the ruling party, which they are feeling by seeing clear defeat in LB polls", said Zamrud Khan, MNA, Malik Abrar, MPA, Sardar Naseem of PML (N) and MMA leaders Dr Kamal, Moulana Majid Hazarvi, Moulana Jalil Naqshbandi, Syed Uzair Hamid while addressing a joint press conference here on Tuesday.
They demanded the deployment of the army in union councils including UC 3, 4, 26, 43, Dhamiyal, Thatha and Taxila saying that these union councils are sensitive and it is expected that ruling party would create law and order situation in these areas.
They said that administration has created horrible situation by raiding the houses and terrorising the opposition candidates and party workers. This should come to an end in order to end the impact of the engineered LB polls, they added.
They said that candidates and leaders of the ruling party have smelled their clear defeat in the polls so they have started negative tactics of filing false cases against opponents. "We would not allow administration and ruling party to win polls by using brute force and would frustrate their designs with people's power", they added.
They said that they hold meetings with the high army officials of the area and asked them to play their role to end the era of terror and tension created by administration in the area. They informed army officials that workers of ruling party with the help of local administration are harassing the opposition candidates, which would lead the area towards a huge collision.
They said that the law and order situation of the city is at stake at the hands of ruling party candidates and workers. They said that direct involvement of ministers and parliamentarians of ruling party has polluted the political atmosphere besides making the election process doubtful.
