Indonesia's press hailed on Tuesday the country's victories at the World Badminton Championships as a much-needed moral boost after two years of sagging performances.
Taufik Hidayat of Indonesia became the first shuttler to take both the Olympic title and a World Championship title at the same time when he defeated China's Lin Dan 15-3, 15-7 in Anaheim, the United States, on Sunday.
Hidayat's pictures dominated front pages of most newspapers, with headlines about his victory eclipsing bad news such as the plunge of the local currency and long-dragging corruption investigations.
