US cocoa futures closed steady to a shade higher on Wednesday, with speculative selling and profit-taking nudging prices down from a 2-week high posted earlier in the session, traders said.
The New York Board of Trade's benchmark December contract rose $2 to settle at $1,412 a tonne, after trading from $1,403 to $,1430. The top trade was the highest since August 10.
Among other cocoa futures, March likewise firmed $2 to end at $1,442 a tonne. Back month deliveries finished flat to up $2.
