US MIDDAY: cocoa futures wilt by light speculative selling

26 Aug, 2005

US cocoa futures ended weaker on Thursday, pressured by light speculative selling amid an improving world crop outlook, traders said.
The New York Board of Trade's benchmark December contract slid $9, or 0.6 percent, to settle at $1,403 a tonne, after trading from a three-day low of $1,398 to $1,422.
March eased $7 to end at $1,435 a tonne, while more-distant contracts shed $6 to $8.
