3G users up 16 percent

Hutchison Whampoa said on August 25 that it had 9.4 million users of its 3G mobile technology as of August 24, higher than expected and up 16 percent from the end of March. Hutchison, which reported first half results on Thursday, said the average 3G revenue per user in the 12 months ended June 30 was 43.11 euros per month, while the average 3G user acquisition cost was 274 euros in the first half.
