Police arrested the fifth accused involved in the alleged fake allotment of a plot by Mirpur development Authority on Tuesday night, police said. The accused Sarfraz Ahmed, sitting Assistant Town Planner of Mirpur Development Authority, was arrested by a police party headed by DSP Headquarter, Raja Irfan Salim during a mid night raid at his house in Khambal locality of the city.
He said that the accused along with already arrested four accused belonging to MDA were wanted by the AJK Accountability Bureau under allegations of inducing in corruption, malpractice and irregularities and double allotment of a residential plot located in local housing sector D/4 in Mirpur city.
The accused will be brought before the Accountability Court for further proceedings.
Under the arrest warrants issued by Azad Jammu Kashmir Accountability Bureau, Mirpur Police had already rounded up four officials of Mirpur Development Authority.
More arrests of the elements involved in corruption, malpractice and irregularities are expected.
