Dr Butt assumes PSF Chairman charge

Renowned scientist Dr N M Butt has assumed the charge of Chairman Pakistan Science Foundation. Dr N M Butt is also Chairman of National Commission on Nano Science & Technology (NCNST), a new initiative of great economic and strategic importance.
Dr Butt has published more than 125 research papers in the field of Nuclear Solid State Physics. His specific fields of scientific interest are Neutron Diffraction and Scattering, Research Reactor Utilisation and Moossabauer Spectroscopy.
His Ph D research has been recorded in the "100 year's of Physics" of the Birmingham University (UK) and has been printed in books published in UK, USA and Holland. Some of his research has been selected as 'archives' of the famous British Journal (Proc Phys Soc).
Dr Butt was awarded the open Gold Medal of Pakistan Academy of Sciences and the prestigious civil award of 'Sitara-e-Imtiaz, the First International Al-Khuarzmi Prize by the President of Iran, the Alexander Von Humbold award (Germany), and the Senior Associate award of International Centre of Theoretical Physics (ICTP) Trieste Italy.
In view of his meritorious research and administrative experience at the national and international level the Government has appointed Dr Butt as the Chairman of Pakistan Science Foundation.
