The meeting on Demutualization/Merger of Lahore and Islamabad stock exchanges, which was scheduled to be held on Saturday, September 3 in Islamabad has been postponed till next week.
Convenor Demutualization/ Merger Committee of Lahore Stock Exchange, Afzal Rahat toldBusiness Recorder on Friday that the meeting had been postponed because of non-availability of some of the directors of Lahore and Islamabad stock exchanges as well as pre-occupation of authorities of Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP), on the due date. The meeting is likely to be held on 10th of September, he added.
He said the representatives of Lahore and Islamabad Stock Exchanges will give presentations to the SECP on memorandum of articles of association and scheme of arrangement for the proposed Demutualization/ merger plan.
When asked about any possibility of joining the merger plan by KSE, he said: "We have received nothing officially in this regard from the KSE."
