A member of the Lahore High Court Bar Association (LHCBA) has approached the Lahore High Court (LHC) praying to the court to direct the respondent government to withdraw the increase made in petroleum prices immediately.
The petitioner, M.D. Tahir contended that his petition pertaining to hike in petroleum price is already pending with the august court, therefore further increase in petroleum prices tantamount to contempt of court.
He contended that the respondent government instead of providing basic facilities to the public is burdening them by increasing the petroleum prices against the public interest.
