MQM chief favours Pak-Israel contacts

04 Sep, 2005

Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussein has said that dialogues with Jews are necessary for establishment of an independent state of Palestine.
"There was no other option except to hold negotiations with Israel for carrying forward the Palestine cause," he said while telephonically addressing a large gathering held in honour of successful candidates of Haq Parast Group in local bodies' polls here at Pakka Qila Hyderabad ground late Friday night.
He said Arab countries, Palestine and Israeli leaders had been trying to reach an agreement by holding formal talks for a long time to make their efforts successful, Pakistan had decided to take part by holding formal discussion.
Altaf Hussain criticised the Ulema and religio-political leaders of Pakistan who were protesting against the holding of Pak-Israel talks. He said that it would be useless not to recognise the existence of Israel, which was a reality.
He said that the religio-political leaders of Pakistan should send their children to Gaza strip for vacating Jews residences if they opposed holding of talks with Israel.
He further said that these religio-political leaders of Pakistan instead of sending their children to USA and Western countries for studies and business should send them to Palestine for their help.
He said MQM was the only political party, which was acting and advising to its workers to behave closer to the Seerat-ul-Nabi Hazrat Muhammad (Peace be upon Him). Altaf Hussain also quoted the Ayat No 16 of Surah Albaqara and Ayat Nos 20 to 26 of Surah Aale-Imran and their Urdu translations to prove that the act of holding talks between Pakistan and Israel on government level was right and peaceful way according to Islamic and Quranic teachings.
