Three dacoits killed in encounter

Three dacoits were killed in police encounter near a village 742-GB in a forest area on the bank of Ravi river, where police is searching dens of dacoits since last five days. The dead body of Ramzan Asif had been taken into custody by the police and removed to hospital, while two dead bodies of dacoits taken away by their accomplices.
According to police, so far five dacoits were killed, while more than one dozen arrested during the search of forests alongside the Ravi river.
Police and Elite Force personnel from Pirmahal, Rajan, Kamalia and Toba were in search of the accomplices of dacoit Zafri who was killed some two days ago in an encounter in the forests near Kassowal and Kamalia.
The police confronted the gang in area of Chak 724-GB and exchanged a fire with its members for three hours as a result of which Ramzan Asif of Chak 744-GB was killed.
Police claimed that two other gang members who were killed in the shootout were taken away by their accomplices. The police hoped that the hidden dacoits would be nabbed within a couple of days.
During the last two years, six members of this gang had been killed in encounters and 13 arrested. Police claimed that the gang members had raped a number of women during various dacoities in Toba Tek Singh, Faisalabad and Sahiwal.
