NBP takes lead to empower female managers

The National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) has taken a positive step by appointing 25 females to head its branches at all over the country and by the year end over 100 more branches of the NBP would be headed by females.
This was stated by S Ali Raza, President, National Bank of Pakistan while inaugurating the High Value Certificate Course on Effective Branch Management for the newly appointed lady branch managers at Karachi on Monday.
He informed the participants about the various initiatives NBP is taking to empower female in NBP due to which it has received AASHA Award for Gender Sensitive Management.
Ali Raza stated that he was inspired by the policy of the government of Pakistan with regard to empowering female as a result of which there are many female parliamentarians in our Assembly.
"No country can progress unless it improves the lot of the working women and gives full opportunities to them in all fields," he emphasised. He urged the lady managers to take full advantages of this training programme, which is directed for improving their knowledge, skill and attitude enabling them to become effective branch managers and make contribution positive to the society.
Dr Mirza Abrar Baig, Group Chief, HR while welcoming the participants, informed about the various HR initiatives NBP is taking to upgrade its HR base. Induction of management trainees, providing excellent career growth, creating a merit-based culture, incentives to high performers are some of the HR initiatives already implemented in the NBP, he said.-PR
