A new building - Phase-III of Hamdard Village School was inaugurated at Madinat al-Hikmah, here on Wednesday. Maulana Hafiz Fazlur Rahim, Naib Mohtamim, Jamia Ashrafia, Lahore, inaugurated the new building.
Addressing the inaugural ceremony, Maulana Hafiz said that we had accepted the demand of teaching English and other modern subjects in Deeni Madaris as a challenge. We would teach our children all subjects, but would keep their faith in Allah Almighty intact and strong.
He also said that during a meeting President General Pervez Musharraf had told us to teach English and other subjects to our children so that they could go to professional colleges and join army and reach up to the post of chief of the army staff.
He said that the entire Muslim Ummah was under pressure and every day foreign delegates were flooding Jamia Ashrafia. Cultural invasion on Muslims was rampant and the affects of which were being felt in every Muslim house, he said, adding that we should take it as a challenge too and try to reach on the peak of knowledge and learning in order to fulfill the mission of Shaheed Hakim Mohammed Said, to which the great man's great daughter, Sadia Rashid was continuously struggling hard to complete. We need five more Hakim Said for this country, he said.
Earlier, Hamdard Foundation President Sadia Rashid in her address of welcome said that Shaheed Hakim Mohammed Said had already felt that to make Pakistan a great country we had to make every child educated and skilled.
No child should be left illiterate and this task should not be left on governments alone. That was why he established Madinat al-Hikmah, a city of education, science and culture and started Hamdard Village School here to educate children of the surrounding villages.
Hakim Saheb himself went to the villages to persuade the parents to admit their children in this school. In the beginning only 65 children took admission and gradually their number increased. Now they are 610 in number, she said.
Today this school has three buildings, she said, adding, "Inshallah no child would be left without education in surrounding villages of Madinat al-Hikmah.
Later, Maulana Hafiz unfurled the national flag and visited the new building of the school and appreciated the facilities being provided to the students of Hamdard Village School.-PR
