Indian occupation troops early on Friday shot dead three suspected freedom fighters along the Line of Control, a police spokesman said. He said the suspected freedom fighters were killed when they snuck into Indian occupied Kashmir's Poonch district, across the Line of Control.
"Soldiers guarding the Line of Control had set up an ambush for infiltrating freedom fighters," the spokesman said. "Once the freedom fighters came into the ambush range, they were asked to surrender, but they choose to open fire instead," he said, adding that Indian occupation soldiers had then shot dead all three freedom fighters.
The infiltration attempt was the first since Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh met moderate Kashmiri freedom fighters in New Delhi on Monday.
