The National Core Group in Chemistry (NCGC) will promote chemical sciences in the country, in accordance with the 'Human Resources Development Programme' emphasised by Higher Education Commission (HEC).
An announcement here on Thursday pointed out that the NCGC, a project of HEC, will also organise curriculum-based teachers training workshops at college and university levels as it did before for the human resources development in the relevant field.
According to the communication, Professor Dr M. Iqbal Chaudhry, Acting Director of International Center for Chemical Sciences and Convenor for NCGC, said that for improved productivity of the departments of colleges and Universities technician training programme would be enhanced for desired results.
"The opportunity to utilise the latest testing facilities of modern instruments by the chemistry researchers is also being supported by the National Core Group in Chemistry. NCGC will cover the charges of those tests, which they required for their research work," he added.
Moreover, 10 post doctorate scholarships of Rs 10 thousands for each per month are awarded each year to Ph. D. scholars, who are permanently employed in universities or in R&D organisations in Pakistan, and can obtain three to six months leave from their relevant organisations to fulfil the research work offered by NCGC.
