Interior ministry team leaves for Turkey on September 18

A four-member interior ministry delegation is due to leave on Sunday for Turkey to attend a meeting of the Pak-Turkish joint commission set up to strengthen bilateral co-operation in combating terrorism and organised crime.
The delegation will be led by Secretary Interior Syed Kamal Shah. The team will participate in the commission deliberations scheduled for September 20-25 in Ankara.
Syed Kamal Shah said on Friday that the joint commission would discuss and adopt a strategy on counter-terrorism and combating human smuggling and organised crime. He said the meeting would also discuss co-operation in training police personnel.
The first meeting of the commission was held in February this year in Islamabad. The delegation will include Director General of the Crisis Management Cell Brigadier Javed Iqbal Cheema (Retd), Director General National Police Bureau, Dr Shoaib Suddle and Additional Director General FIA Tariq Khosa.
