A 20-member Command and Staff College delegation of Sri Lankan Army headed by Major General S.R. Balasuriya arrived here on a two-day visit to provincial metropolis.
The distinguished guests started their day with the visit to Mazar of Dr Allama Muhammad Iqbal, laid floral wreath and presented the salute to pay homage to the great poet and philosopher of the East, says a press release issued by ISPR here on Sunday.
The delegation also visited the Badshahi mosque where they were apprised about the historical background of the grand mosque constructed under the patronage of Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb Alamgir.
At the Lahore Fort, the guests went around Diwan-e-Aam, Diwan-e-Khas, and Sheesh Mahel and appreciated the architectural treasures of Mughal era.
Later, the delegation visited Minar-e-Pakistan and evinced keen interest in the history of Pakistan freedom movement and independence struggle.
In the evening, the visitors went to Wahga border where they were briefed about Pak-lndia border and witnessed the flag-lowering ceremony.
