Spain's Agriculture Ministry has slightly increased its estimate for this year's drought-stricken wheat and barley crop but trimmed its estimate for the maize harvest, the latest data showed on Monday.
The ministry increased by 2.6 percent its estimate for the total autumn/winter grain crop to 9.10 million tonnes - but that was still less than half last year's 19.01 million tonnes.
The soft wheat crop was seen at 2.97 million tonnes, 6.5 percent higher than the previous month's estimate. Last year the soft wheat crop was 4.39 million tonnes.
The barley crop was also revised 0.3 percent higher to 4.66 million tonnes - also less than half last year's.
