21 Sep, 2005

Muttahida Majlis-e-Ammal (MMA) Chief, Qazi Hussain Ahmad has said that they would show their street power by taking people on roads after Eid ul Fitr, while in the holy month of Ramazan, they would organise their workers.
While addressing a reception given to newly elected LB representatives of Lahore District at Mansoora on Tuesday, Qazi said that President General Musharraf's current visit to America is a part of his agenda against Pakistan. However, Musharraf's departure is writing on the wall and both Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and Chaudhry Pervaiz Ellahi must think how they would face the public and what would be their political fate, he added.
'We had not accepted the local body results and in order to register our protest against the planned rigging, we would hold agitation against the government', he maintained.
Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Secretary General MMA, Liaquat Baloch said that neither we accept General Pervez Musharraf as president nor would accept any other general in future. The present government has committed worst type of election rigging, he said.
PML (N) leader Khawaja Saad Rafiq said that the PML (N) would take active part in movement against General Pervez Musharraf and present government. District Nazim Lahore candidate from opposition, Rana Mashood Ahmad, PPPP Lahore president Aziz ur Rehman Chan, and nominated town Nazims also spoke on this occasion.
