Pakistan and Mongolia have agreed to upgrade their bilateral ties in political, economic, cultural and educational fields. An agreement to this effect reached at a meeting held between Mongolian President Nambaryn Enkhbayar and ambassador Salman Bashir.
It was decided to establish a regular consultation mechanism to take unanimous position on regional and international issues.
Salman Bashir has taken over as ambassador extraordinary and Plenipotentiar of Pakistan to Mongolia, in addition to his current ambassadorial status in China.
In this connection, he formally presented credentials to the President Enkhbayar at a ceremony held at the Mongolian capital, Wan Bator
Diplomatic sources told newsmen the Mongolian President stressed the need of further developing co-operation between the two countries, particularly in the economic sector. He wished to enhance bilateral contacts at various regional forums such as SCO, ARF and ACD.
Reciprocating the warm sentiment, ambassador Salman Bashir said his country is prepared to strengthen its relations with Mongolia in all fields of common interest. He agreed that the two countries should maintain close inter-action at bilateral, regional and international levels.
The ambassador said Pakistan has offered to provide training facilities to the Mongolian people in different fields for their socio-economic uplift.
