Minister of State and Chairman Export Promotion Bureau (EPB), Tariq Ikram on Wednesday formally inaugurated branch of Meezan Bank, the largest Islamic bank in Pakistan, in Peshawar.
Chief Executive Officer and President of Meezan Bank, Irfan Siddiqui and regional chiefs of a number of banks were also present on the occasion. Chairman EPB later, visited different sections of the bank.
The opening of the Meezan Bank branch marks first branch in Peshawar, NWFP and 25th in the country. It merits a mention here that Meezan Bank is the first scheduled bank in Pakistan to have received a license from State Bank of Pakistan to operate as an Islamic commercial bank.
