Central leader, Tehrik-e-Istaqlal (TI), Malik Hamid Sarfraz has urged President General Pervaiz Musharraf to immediately announce erection of Kalabagh Dam for economically tenacious Pakistan.
"Only a strong leader like Musharraf can initiate Kalabagh Dam project as he never succumbed to political pressures and took decisions in the wider national interest," he added.
Talking to PPI at his Nisbet road residence here on Wednesday, he said since Abbasi Committee had submitted its report there was no justifications to delay the construction of Kalabag Dam. He said the construction of storage and distribution of surplus water was essential for the future growth and development of Pakistan.
He said availability of water was vital for economic, development, employment in rural areas and improving the quality of life of the people.
